Two photographers,
Tina Tommasi Thompson and Jon Q. Thompson, first joined forces in 1987.
Then marriage to one another took Tina from Tulsa, Oklahoma and transplanted
her in Lubbock, Texas. This is where Jon owned a successful commercial
photography studio, and the story begins.
Tina's photographic
background was portrait and fine art. Jon's talents were in the area
of commercial/advertising photography. After many years of running a
successful studio, Tina decided to introduce her fine art photography into a
different venue. Images on paper seemed to feel familiar and
comfortable. This is the road that led to Carmel (Dream Designs, that
is). Named after the city by the sea, Carmel, California.
Tina designs all the
products and applies artwork techniques to her own photography, Jon's
photography and a few stock images. She has recently incorporated
designer paper from several leading manufacturers.
Tina and Jon have both
earned the Master of Photography Degree and Photographic Craftman Degree.
They have both been Certified Professional Photographers. Both have
served on various state and local boards and have volunteered in many areas
of their community and church.
Tina and Jon are a
unique husband and wife team dedicated to creating elegant stationery,
invitations and gift items. This desire is reflected in the fine
products handcrafted in their Lubbock, Texas studio.
